NASIS FACE Programs
Written by Matt Brent
Wednesday, 14 July 2010

Attention NASIS Administrators,

As discussed during the FACE WebEx meetings held on May 21st 2010, the Bureau of Indian Education is expecting all BIE schools to track their FACE programs using NASIS for the 2010-2011 school year.  At that time it was indicated that Infinite Campus would create a template for Home Based and Center Based FACE Programs; including Calendars, Schedule Structures, Terms, Periods, Days, Courses, Sections, Attendance Excuse Codes, and User Groups.

The templates have been finalized and recently pushed down to all BIE schools with FACE programs.  These templates were designed to supplement any existing 2010-2011 Home Based or Center Based FACE calendars.  If it was unclear which type of FACE program calendar was already created, then your school may have received these templates in addition to your existing FACE calendar.  If your existing calendar was missing any information such as Attendance Excuse Codes, then a sample set of codes were assigned to your FACE calendar.

Please keep in mind that these templates were created primarily to demonstrate how your FACE calendars could be created, as well as reduce the learning curve and amount of data entry needed for FACE program coordinators that may be new to NASIS.  Since every FACE program is run differently, your school is free to modify the existing templates based on your program needs.  If your school prefers not to use the templates and create your own FACE calendars instead, then simply notify the Infinite Campus NASIS Support Team and we will delete any or all of these templates from your NASIS site.

In addition to these templates, Infinite Campus has also created the following power point presentations to help your school with each step of the FACE creation process; including Enrolling and Scheduling FACE students, Attendance Tracking, Adding Staff Members, and Managing User Accounts.

Written by Jennifer Downey
Wednesday, 11 May 2011

Attention NASIS Users,

To help schools maintain the shared Ad hoc filters, we have reorganized the user group into sub-groups.  All users from the old group, “Shared Filters” are now members of these new groups.  We encourage system administrators at your school to manage these groups.

The following User Groups have been added to each school under the Ad Hoc Reporting Module (Ad Hoc Reporting > Filter Designer):

CENSUS AdHocs: Queries for Census and Demographic Data

CURRICULUM AdHocs: Queries for student academic/curriculum information

BEHAVIOR AdHocs: Queries for students with Behavior information

BIE ANNUAL REPORT

SPED AdHocs: Queries for Special Education Reporting

ENROLLMENT:  Queries for Students missing Enrollment Information

GRADUATION:  Queries for Students missing Graduation Information

Please click on the following link to view the list of queries under each new user group
